LEDs achieve an outstanding ecobalance: As the lighting technology of the future, they significantly reduce CO2 emissions and power consumption thanks to their tremendous energy efficiency. This fact also impressed the initiators of the SiemensForum, who used the tiny light-emitting diodes to illuminate the Innovation Truck, which is being unveiled today. The inside of the futuristic truck is divided into a showroom, business lounge and cockpit. A variety of LEDs from Regensburg were used in retrofits and downlights to illuminate the truck both inside and out. The basic lighting in the cockpit and lounge comes from 20 Osram Dragonpoint DPVario downlights, fitted with Golden Dragon Plus LEDs. The individually rotatable LED luminaires provide high light quality with homogeneous illumination, high brightness and a pleasant light color, combined with an inconspicuous design.
LED lighting with impressive visual effects
The Osram Linearlight Colormix Flex, installed over almost 30 meters, generate unusual lighting effects inside the truck: These LEDs provide lighting in all RGB colors, creating a colorful look in the business lounge and cockpit, where the futuristic lighting can also be admired from the outside through the largely transparent outer wall. In contrast, the showroom was equipped with warm-white LEDs inside and cold-white outside the truck.
The truck’s entryway is especially eye-catching with its ten LED IP65 profiles from the light designer Li-Ex fitted with Osram Oslon Square LEDs. The tiny light sources provide pinpoint lighting, directing visitors’ attention to the truck’s entryway and inviting them to come in and explore. The same LEDs were installed to illuminate the outside area in IP65 floodlight luminaires, immersing the truck and its immediate vicinity in bright light when it is dark out. The truck’s headlamps likewise were retrofitted with the light technology of the future: Instead of halogen and xenon headlamps, LED headlamps now light up the road in front of the truck with products from Osram Opto Semiconductors.
