Renesas Technology Corp. has announced the following changes in its management team, to take effect on April 1, 2009. The new appointments are subject to approval of the general shareholders’ meeting to be held before the end of March, 2009.
Satoru Ito, Chairman and CEO since April 2006, will retire from his position. Katsuhiro Tsukamoto, currently President and COO, will be appointed Chairman and Board Director, and Yasushi Akao will take up the post of President, while continuing as Board Director.
Until now, Renesas Technology has operated under a management team headed by a Chairman & CEO and a President & COO. For clarity, the titles of these posts will be changed to Chairman and President, respectively. The President will have responsibility for decision-making and business operations, while the Chairman will participate in decision-making from a broader perspective, as well as assisting the President in the implementation of business operations.
