PRQA Announces DO-178B Qualification Pack for QA•C++

PRQA has today announced the availability of a DO-178B Qualification Pack for QA•C++, its industry-leading high-fidelity language analysis tool. PRQA, a world leader in coding standard enforcement and language-based static analysis, is an instrumental player in the development and application of coding standards in many industries including aerospace and avionics.

In order to provide this qualification pack and to present independent verification of QA•C++, PRQA selected Verocel Inc, a leading authority on D0-178B qualification and software certification process. Verocel has extensive expertise with RTCA/DO-178B Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification and has been involved in a number DO-178B software certification projects to level A standards.

The tool qualification pack will enable projects to effectively obtain certification credit for the DO-178B objectives:
– “A-5 (4) Source Code conforms to standards “
– “A-5 (6) Source Code is accurate and consistent“.

The QA•C++ Qualification Pack consists of Tool Qualification Plan (TQP), Tool Operational Requirements (TOR), and Tool Qualification Data (TQD) documents. The pack will also be accompanied with a user-invoked Certification Report to provide users with automated project based artefact documentation. The PRQA solution provides unmatched certification fulfilment, and meets tool and process qualification needs.

“With the increased dependence on reliable embedded and system software in aerospace applications, and the standard driven environment for verifying software and tools, there is a growing demand for qualification data from tool vendors categorised as software verification tools.” says Paul Blundell, CEO of Programming Research Group. “Through the use of QA•C++, coding standard compliance modules, associated qualification pack and a new automated certification report, developers of any software based sub-system can effectively and confidently provide the evidence needed to obtain certification credit for DO-178B objectives.”
