Omnetics opens new European sales office

Omnetics has opened a new European sales headquarters in Portsmouth, UK to support a growing market presence and increase penetration in markets such as mil/aero, medical, petrochemical, telecoms, instrumentation and other sectors that require highly rugged and reliable, yet miniature and innovative solutions.

Heading the new operation is Gary Evans, recently appointed European Sales Manager, who brings a wealth of experience to this position. He comments: “Omnetics will be a new name to many European designers, but the company has over 20 years experience in producing interconnect solutions for prestigious applications such as NASA’s Phoenix Scout Mission and the B2 Stealth Bomber.” As an example of the company’s capabilities, in 2004, the company introduced the Bi-Lobe™ range, the world’s first Nano connector design to meet – and exceed – the demands of Mil Spec 32139. This has subsequently become recognised as an industry standard product

Omnetics has a range of European partner distributors. In the UK, the company has recently appointed ISO9001:2000 approved Genalog as a franchised distributor. Says Evans: “Genalog is very well established in the UK market with a strong a loyal customer base. They have a broad portfolio of connector and cable lines, and have invested to provide value-added assembly services, which will be very interesting for users of our products. More, as a specialist interconnect distributor Genalog offers exceptional service and delivers on short lead times.”
