NEPCON China 2010 Opens to Develop New Market Dimension

NEPCON China 2010, one of the largest electronics manufacturing and surface mount industry events in China, has opened its doors in the Shanghai Everbright Conference and Exhibition Center. On the first day, the visitors flowed and the number of visitors has broken the record again. The event attracts overseas visitors from many Southeast Asia countries including India and Vietnam where the electronics industry is growing fast.
This year’s exhibition gathers 500 exhibitors from around the world. Besides high profile names such as Agilent, Assembléon, Siemens, Sony, Hitachi, Panasonic, Samsung, Fuji, Henkel, Yamaha, JUKI, DEK and Speedline, NEPCON China 2010 has also attracted many companies that are participating in the event for the first time, including Toyorobot, Rockbond, Kedtch, Szsunsport, Ctoptest, Keyence, Nagoya Electric and Crest.
In 1985, NEPCON China opened in Shanghai, and 2010 marks its 20th edition. With the accumulation in the number of exhibitions in past years, NEPCON China is recognized as the essential grand event to understand technology trends and master latest industry direction. This year, the exhibition covers new products and technologies in a variety of areas, bringing many exciting surprises to the industry. Many mainstream vendors debut new products in Asia, including JUKI, Samsung, Panasonic, WKK, Omron, Siemens and Assembléon.
Technical seminars and forums are another highlight of the exhibition. The 2010 China Electronics Manufacturing and Packaging Technology Forum has invited famous experts, professors and industry leaders from industrial, universities and research areas to intensely analyze and discuss the trends and technical innovations of the Chinese electronics manufacturing industry. The topics include new PoP, 3G PoP and 3D SCP in 3G mobile phones, new component (MCM/FC/SIP) packaging and assembly process and reliability, new optoelectronic packaging and assembly, and new lead-free and halogen-free materials under new environment-friendly directives. The China branch of the Surface Mount Technology Association (SMTA) will continue to hold the SMTA East China conference during the exhibition, covering the most urgent topics in the industry, including electronics manufacturing, advanced packaging and lead-free reliability.
The Evaluation of Electronics Manufacturing and SMT Industry Engineer Awards Ceremony at NEPCON China 2010 will be held from 15:00-16:00 on April 21 in the level 2 of west hall. This year, the event gathers more than 300 engineers. The judging panel, which consists of a number of authoritative experts and high-level corporation managers has became the highlight of the event, including Dr. Dongkai Shangguan, Technology VP, Flextronics Global; Mr. Zhu Tao, Chairman Top Touch; Mr. Lian Suiren, Editor in Chief,SMT China Magazine; Mr. Chen Yang, Deputy GM, Youth Daily; Mr. Zhang Jianshe, Executive vice president/editor in chief, China Electronic News; Dong Enhui, GM, Telecom Technology Instrument Research Institute of Tatang Inc.; Mr. Ge Weihu, GM, HuanTai Technologies; Mr. Wei Ziling, GM, Nanjing Tongchuang Electronic; Ph.D Fu Haley, Manager, iNEMI Operations-Asia; and Ms Xiong Xi, manager Hudson Recruitment Shanghai, - one of the leading Asia providers of recruitment and talent management. The winner of “Best SMT Engineer” in 2010 will receive a Costa Cruises 6-day and 7-night Japan and Korea vacation, which is famous for enjoying a variety of noble experiences.
In order to build a comprehensive industry community and create a multi-level communication platform to meet the needs of visitors, a variety of events including SMTe membership Assembly and SMT Users Salon SMT Home Members Gathering will be held during the exhibition. These events will provide an important platform for domestic and foreign industry professionals to share the latest information and discuss innovative technology and experience. Additionally, this year is the 25th year for China to introduce SMT automated placement production equipment. The organizer of the exhibition, Reed Exhibitions, cooperates with SMT Committee of Shanghai Electronics Association, SMT Committee of Sichuan Electronics Association and SMT Committee of Guangdong Electronics Association to hold the ceremony of The 25th Anniversary of SMT’s Entry into China and the 20th Edition of NEPCON China during the exhibition. The events include commemoration, reporting, meeting, a commemoration exhibition and article recruitment.
The Green Lighting Shanghai Expo and Forum 2010 held by China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA) and Reed Exhibitions features the giants of the semiconductor lighting industry, including Philips, OSRAM, ASTRI, AIXTRON, Cree, Shanghai Sansi, Rainbow Optoelectronics Material and Everfine. The expo will display numerous privately owned, innovative technologies and products. These include Philips LED lighting solutions such as the Master LED designed for hotels. Philips also showcases its LED-based AmbiScene Lighting System and a series of uniquely designed, colorful LED lamps for home use. The street and tunnel lamps from Shanghai Sansi Engineering are based on its wholly owned, unique light distribution design software as well as heat sink technologies. LOK-F GmbH R&D Germany displays a new patent LED lamp. At the same time as the exhibition, a forum featuring two conferences and four summits will focus on topical issues affecting the industry. Nearly 100 key figures from industry-related organizations, colleges and research units have been invited to take part. Many of them will deliver speeches on novelty lighting. Senior executives from world famous companies in the trade will also be on hand to participate in discussions on topics such as novel energy lighting applications; the revolution of novel light sources and traffic lighting; special lighting designs; smart control system solutions and the development of novel light source displays. The senior executives will also share insights into the latest research, together with their perspectives on the development of future mainstream technologies and applications. Key figures from industry leaders like Philips and OSRAM will deliver speeches on overcoming the challenges of effectively developing the industry.
