Digital signage specialist, ONELAN, has announced V5.2 of its Net Top Box (NTB) Digital Signage software with many new features, including Multi-Channel Publishing, which now allows its products to build up to large scale Digital Signage Network (DSN).
Multi-Channel Publishing allows a centrally located administrator with a V5.2-enabled NTB to publish different schedules to several different locations or groups of locations, thereby simplifying the operation at multi-sites be they internal, local, national or international. This is accomplished using a central Publisher NTB that sends a schedule to a number of NTBs arranged in channels, providing an easy-to-use, efficient and cost-effective solution to small or complex requirements.

Comments David Dalzell, ONELAN’s MD: “The Multi Channel Publishing functionality means that a remote administrator can publish to a diverse network of NTBs simply and efficiently, creating a centrally-controlled DSN using standard, affordable hardware. The other new features have been included to make our systems as effective and as flexible as possible – maximising awareness and ensuring that information is delivered to the target audience with high impact.”

V5.2 software delivers many other functions including: DVB-T subtitles; a Soundtrack facility which can use music from many sources – locally stored MP3, internet radio streams etc - and offer digital sound mixing; plus DVB-T radio for background music. Furthermore, the new software allows users to be much more flexible in selecting different sections or Zones of an Internet web page. Lastly, V5.2 allows the user to suspend the current Schedule and play a defined Layout indefinitely, which can be very useful for safety announcements.
