Microtek Laboratories Signs UL Preferred Partner Agreement

“The Preferred Partner Program will enable PCB manufacturers to work seamlessly between UL and Microtek to receive a complete suite of services required to get to market quickly and economically,” said Truda Chow, PCB business development manager, UL High-Tech Industry. “By partnering with Microtek, UL can offer solutions for China market access and performance evaluations.”

The Preferred Partner Program covers testing under UL standards for PCBs, including UL 94, the test for flammability of plastic materials for parts in devices and appliances; UL 796, the test for printed wiring boards; and UL 796F, the test for flexible materials interconnect constructions.

Through the Preferred Partner Program, PCB manufacturers working with UL can also take advantage of extra service offerings offered by Microtek, which is the first foreign laboratory accredited by CQC in China. The services include testing and certification to CQC-V084 for the China market, performance and reliability testing to various IPC standards and environmental simulation, among others.

UL has more than 50 years of experience in the field of PCBs conformity assessment. To accommodate the quickly changing board and materials technologies, UL’s experienced engineers proactively participate in R&D, standard development and knowledge sharing at public conferences.
