Atlona LinkCast Wireless HD System Now Available in Europe

Atlona today announced that its award-winning LinkCast is now available for the European market. The EU-certified LinkCast Wireless HD System provides an easy and affordable way for users to get content in their home theaters from as many as four HD sources — including laptops, game consoles, Blu-ray players, and more — to displays, projectors, or AV receivers without the hassle and clutter of cables.

The LinkCast Wireless HD System reduces cords and cables with wireless plug-and-play connection of nearly any HDMI source to the LinkCast base station. The Link-Cast system includes an AV base station (AT-LINKCASTAV-EU), one expander (AT-LINKCAST-HTX-EU), and an IR remote control for switching between sources. To reduce installation costs, additional expanders are available (sold separately), to wirelessly connect up to five sources to each AV base station. In addition, the LinkCast has two channels to ensure the best connection between the transmitter and receiver.

The LinkCast supports HDCP 1.2 and WHDI 1.0 protocols and offers HD picture and sound capabilities, with coverage up to 40 feet without obstructions. The unit also supports resolution up to 1080p (1920×1080), full 3D HDTV video, up to Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 digital audio, and offers high-speed HDMI, HDCP-compliant con-nections. LinkCast system expanders are USB powered so there is no need for an added power supply.

“The LinkCast changed wireless HD connectivity in residential installations as we know it throughout North America,” said Ilya Khayn, president and CEO, Atlona. “Now our customers in Europe can affordably enjoy flawless HD video and digital audio wirelessly for a cleaner and neater look in their living rooms and home theaters.”
