Cees Links, Marketing Chair in the ZigBee Alliance and the CEO of GreenPeak Technologies will be speaking at the upcoming Internet of Things Conference to take place June 6, 2012 at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, The Netherlands
The Internet of Things is the term for the billions of devices that are expected to be connected to the web in the coming years for home automation, energy efficiency and environment management access control, security and health monitoring and care. Many large operators, service providers and utilities are launching residential applications that can be managed via the set-top box/router and from there over the web, allowing their subscribers/customers to connect from anywhere in the world via smart phones and other remote control devices.

By using ultra-low power standard ZigBee wireless technology to easily connect these devices to the set-top box/router, it is now possible to create a network of wireless sensors that either require no power at all or can work for a decade or longer on a single battery, eliminating the hassle of frequent battery replacement.

“Cable companies, service providers and consumer electronics manufacturers are in the process of rolling out ZigBee based smart home systems worldwide,” says Cees Links, Founder and CEO of GreenPeak Technologies. “It's an honor to be selected to speak at this event regarding the strengths and opportunities for the adoption of ZigBee and what we have learned during the past years as one of the fastest growing chip and technology vendors in this space.”
