Green Hills Software today announced it has formally joined the GENIVI Alliance as an Associate Member. The GENIVI Alliance is an automotive and consumer electronics industry association driving the development and adoption of an open In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) reference platform.
“We are pleased to have Green Hills Software participating in this game-changing industry Alliance”, says Graham Smethurst, GENIVI President. “Their extensive experience in helping customers design, develop, debug and deploy some of the industry’s most secure, reliable vehicle electronics are of value to both the Alliance and consumers of the efforts that come from GENIVI.”

Green Hills Software's flagship run-time offerings include its INTEGRITY® RTOS and INTEGRITY Multivisor™ Virtualization. According to independent industry analyst firm Venture Development Corporation (see chart on http://www.ghs.com/MarketShareGrowth.html), INTEGRITY has demonstrated the highest growth in RTOS market share over the past five years. The success of INTEGRITY is due to its advanced separation architecture, incorporating memory protection, guaranteed resource availability, secure remote management, and optimal real-time response. INTEGRITY technology is certified to numerous safety and security standards in industrial safety (IEC 61508 SIL 3), railway safety (EN 50128 SWIL 4), medical (FDA Class III), avionics (DO-178B Level A) and for INTEGRITY-178B to EAL6+, High Robustness, the highest Common Criteria (IEC 15408) security level ever achieved for any software product.

For software development, the Green Hills MULTI® integrated development environment (IDE) provides state-of-the-art compilers, debuggers, simulators, and profiling tools. Green Hills compilers are used to build application code with the highest performance and smallest footprint. The IDE includes a built-in MISRA C rules checker and the Green Hills DoubleCheck™ static source code analyzer. The MULTI IDE also provides leading debug technology, including the award-winning TimeMachine™ suite for advanced trace analysis. Green Hills also offers the widest range of JTAG run control and trace-based hardware probes.

“As a GENIVI Alliance Member, Green Hills brings a rich set of proven capabilities and know- how when it comes to developing the most reliable and secure embedded systems in the world,” stated Dan Mender, vice president of business development at Green Hills Software. “With its expansive cross-industry experience, working with the highest levels of electronic device safety and security, Green Hills will contribute to expand the capabilities of the IVI reference platform slated for availability from the Alliance.”
