Green Hills Software has announced that it has formed INTEGRITY Global Security, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Green Hills Software, Inc. The new company will market INTEGRITY secure separation solutions, based on INTEGRITY, the first and only operating system ever to achieve Common Criteria EAL6+ High Robustness certification by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP), a joint U.S. government initiative governed by the National Security Agency (NSA). Only an EAL6+ High Robustness operating system is certified to protect high value resources at risk of attack from hostile and well-funded attackers.
INTEGRITY Global Security’s charter is to use INTEGRITY as the foundation to protect government and corporate cyber assets. The company was formed to help solve many of the world’s long-standing enterprise security problems, including safe Internet browsing for corporate PCs; protection of databases and other critical data center servers; securing Internet commerce transactions; and protecting critical infrastructure networks, operator stations, and SCADA systems from hackers.

INTEGRITY Global Security offers solutions that close the security gaps and make computing environments secure. INTEGRITY Global Security’s experts apply a proven methodology, called Secure Separation Architecture to create absolutely secure and totally reliable software, including the INTEGRITY operating system, Secure Call Centers, Secure PCs, Secure Web Portals, Secure Financial Transactions and Secure PDAs. “With the achievement of our INTEGRITY security certification to Common Criteria EAL6+ High Robustness, the most stringent security evaluation ever undertaken by any operating system, we recognized the pressing need for a new organization that is focused on solving many of the world’s long-standing enterprise security problems,” said Dan O’Dowd, founder and chief executive officer, Green Hills Software. “For more than 10 years, INTEGRITY has been deployed in systems that require absolute security and total reliability, including the B-1B bomber, F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Only INTEGRITY Global Security’s experts will be able to provide organizations with the proven expertise to create absolutely secure and totally reliable systems.”

NIAP certified INTEGRITY for EAL6+ and High Robustness. EAL6+ High Robustness is the level of security deemed appropriate by the NSA for the combination of “both sophisticated threat agents and high value resources.” INTEGRITY is the only operating system ever to achieve an EAL6+ rating. No operating system has previously been certified beyond EAL5, and no other product has even begun the stringent EAL6+ certification process, which takes years to complete. INTEGRITY was created from the ground up to protect critical infrastructure, financial records and corporate intellectual property from all threats, internal and external, deliberate and inadvertent. The High Robustness rating specifies that INTEGRITY provides the most stringent protection and rigorous security countermeasures available for high value data.

“For years, information security has been myopically protecting the organization from the outside in with technologies like firewalls and antivirus and largely overlooked the need to protect it from the inside out. In Gartner’s vision of Adaptive Security Infrastructure, protecting workloads and information from the inside out will require more intelligent security sensors throughout the infrastructure – at endpoints, virtual servers and within the applications and data themselves,” said Neil MacDonald, vice president and Gartner fellow. “However, security software running on the same physical machine as the workloads and information it is protecting can’t be unequivocally trusted without strong isolation, high assurance and resiliency of the software, and trust attestation, which will become the foundation for next-generation Adaptive Security Infrastructure.”
