EVE, the leader in hardware/software co-verification, today announced that STMicroelectronics, a world leader in set-top box and digital TV chips, has adopted the ZeBu emulation system, including EVE’s extensive catalog of ZeBu transactors and memory models, for use in the development of 3D graphics and advanced video codec technologies.
According to STMicroelectronics, the ZeBu-Personal platform, enhanced by its extensive library of transactors and memory models, is the best-in-class platform for high-performance intellectual property (IP) validation and driver development.

“After an extensive evaluation of the ZeBu-Personal emulation platform, we were able to attain a speed in excess of 10MHz in transaction-based emulation,” says Laurent Ducousso, verification manager, Home Video Division, STMicroelectronics. “This remarkable performance makes ZeBu the best transaction-level modeling system solution offered today. In fact, ZeBu is fast enough to run application-level software –– and not just drivers –– to start embedded software validation well ahead of silicon availability.”

“We are pleased by the results STMicroelectronics has been able to achieve,” remarks Dr. Luc Burgun, EVE’s president and chief executive officer. “The results confirm and endorse our strategy to promote transaction-based emulation as a viable alternative to in-circuit emulation.”
