Following the successful audit by the TÜV Rheinland Technical Inspectorate, ERNI Electronics has been awarded ISO TS 16949:2009 certification. The ISO TS 16949 Technical Specification is the first globally valid certification standard for quality management systems of automotive suppliers and their sub-suppliers. It combines the contents of current quality standards such as QS 9000 (USA), VDA 6.1 (Germany), EAQF (France) and AVSQ (Italy). ISO TS 16949 certificates are recognised today the world over by the automotive industry and direct suppliers as proof that the quality management system of a particular standard parts supplier meets their requirements. In principle, ISO TS 16949 certification can be applied to the entire supply chain of the automotive industry and is a must for direct suppliers.
For ERNI Electronics, this certification is an expression of the high quality standards within the company and is of great significance for the market segment of the automotive industry. In particular, cable connections with the MaxiBridge and MiniBridge plug-in connectors are increasingly used in cars. The utmost in quality and reliability are called for here, particularly when you consider that around 80% of electronic failures in cars are down to faulty connections. Against this backdrop, ERNI Electronics has constantly optimised its processes and continues to work closely with its suppliers in order to assure the high quality standard, which has now been documented by being awarded ISO TS 16949:2009 certification.
