Atmel Corporation, a leader in secure microcontroller technology, today announced that it will participate in CARTES 2009 Exhibition held at the Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre in Paris from November 17-19, 2009.

In booth 4N018, Atmel will be demonstrating its security technologies expertise with the latest innovations in smart card technologies, system security and RFID. With one of the largest product portfolios of secure ICs, Atmel has the right solution for every application.

Atmel will be launching a number of security products at the show including:
· Atmel's new VaultIC(TM) family of security modules for applications including femtocells, smart meters, telehealth, USB token and gaming platforms. Bundled with hardware, multiple interfaces and firmware, this is truly a turnkey solution for system designers.
· Atmel's TwinAVR(TM) secure microcontrollers targeting demanding smart card applications such as the growing PayTV conditional access market.
· A new family of secure microcontrollers targeting the highest security level for smart objects and systems. The AT90SO family is the first to offer a wide range of interfaces to bring security to various applications including USB e-Tokens, femtocells, smart meters, secure data and gaming platforms.
· Atmel's latest device in smart card reader ICs targeting the cost-sensitive, high-volume USB smart card reader applications.
· A low-cost RFID LF OTP transponder IDIC® ATA5575M1 is optimized for next-generation access control systems. The ATA5575M1's OTP functionality simplifies the production process and provides increased flexibility compared to read-only devices. As a result, the lead time and time-to-market are drastically reduced.
· A new CryptoRF Starter Kit that allows developers to easily extend its secure HF RFID reader capabilities to their embedded microcontroller systems. This new kit helps prevent counterfeiting of medical and consumable products, tracking and recording chain of ownership, access control and convenient storage of configuration and sensitive data.
