The switch then activates a transmitter which sends a message to an EnOcean TCM 300 receiver module that sits on the solenoid valve controlling the flow of oil, gas or water, instructing it to open or close the valve.
Commenting on the new controller, Sean Linden of Radin Radio Controls said: “This new device has generated huge levels of interest from the oil, gas and water industry, who are keen to improve safety, maximise efficiency and reduce labour costs. They particularly like the fact that you can use your mobile phone to text the device instructions to open or close the valve and the fact that the switch is self-powered.”
Maxine Hewitt, Marketing Director, Alpha Micro said: “Energy harvesting technology such as that developed by EnOcean is revolutionising M2M communications and industrial and domestic automation. The Radin Radio Valve Controller is a brilliant idea – our expert team of design engineers are proud to have developed the software for this innovative new product.”
