Fingerprints has enhanced the physical access security at its Gothenburg headquarters by implementing S-Key biometric access cards from Freevolt Technologies, incorporating Fingerprints' T2 sensors.

This upgrade across the Gothenburg site fortifies workplace security and facilitates role-based access control, whilst offering a user-friendly experience.

The Gothenburg headquarters now utilises security gates for entry and exit, alongside restricted areas dedicated to hardware and software R&D. The transition from access keyfobs to biometric access cards has improved site-wide security and introduced role-based access to sensitive areas. This shift from traditional security measures to biometric-based access enables multi-factor authentication while maintaining convenience for staff.

Caroline Krüger, CHRO of Fingerprints, notes: “The workplace has significantly evolved in recent years. At Fingerprints, we support hybrid working while ensuring our workforce has round-the-clock access to headquarters. In this dynamic working environment, it's crucial that our team finds the workplace accessible and secure, necessitating a flexible, secure, and convenient access control solution.”

Fingerprints has deployed Freevolt’s premier biometric access card solution, S-Key, eliminating the security risks associated with lost or stolen cards without incurring additional infrastructure costs. The card integrates Fingerprints' latest ‘T2’ sensors for superior image quality, processing speed, and power efficiency.

Adam Philpott, CEO of Fingerprints, states: “To address current security challenges, we must shift away from traditional security methods. As a biometrics firm, it's vital that we exemplify robust, seamless security in our operations. This also presents an opportunity for learning and innovation through daily use of these systems. I anticipate a continued strong and innovative partnership with Freevolt technologies.”

Gonzalo de Gisbert, Head of Product & Business Development at Freevolt Technologies, adds: “As a leading name in biometrics with sensors in billions of products, Fingerprints understands the elements of a successful biometric solution. We're delighted that Fingerprints has selected S-Key to enhance security at their global headquarters in Gothenburg. Our advanced radio frequency energy harvesting technology, combined with Fingerprints’ ‘T2’ sensors, known as FPC 1323, allows S-Key to operate without a battery for many years. Deployment was smooth, with complete setup achieved in less than an hour. This represents simple, safe, and secure biometrics, powered by Freevolt.”
