Strengthening its commitment to advanced robotics and enabling technologies applied to industrial automation, Comau joins the ADRA - AI, Data and Robotics Association, which represents the private sector in the European Partnership (PPP) for Artificial Intelligence, Data, and Robotics, within Horizon Europe.

With global experience as a manufacturer and supplier of advanced robotic solutions, Comau brings expertise and innovation capabilities to ADRA to guide the European debate on key issues for the digital and technological transformation of the industrial system. In line with ADRA’s objectives and mission – to promote research, development, and innovation of European industry through the use of artificial intelligence, data, and robotics – Comau’s participation fosters a constant exchange of knowledge within robotic automation and the application of new technologies. Comau also contributes innovative ideas and proposals to the projects and initiatives that ADRA periodically proposes to the European Commission.

The partnership between Comau and ADRA materialises in two major international events. In fact, Comau, as an ADRA representative and in collaboration with the association, spoke at Research to Reality, a meeting dedicated to the future of digitalisation in Europe, which is held in Brussels on 5th and 6th February 2024. Meanwhile, on 13th and 15th March, it attended the 2024 edition of the European Robotics Forum (ERF) in Rimini, where it presented its latest innovations for advanced robotics and digitalisation, joining the work and meetings with the European Commission also as a new ADRA member.

On both occasions, Comau shares its innovative vision of industry, explaining how automation, connected to enabling technologies, is a key development lever for businesses and a strategic tool to support and enhance human work. Comau also presents advanced solutions designed within funded activities. These include the European Flexible Battery Dismantling (Flex-BD) project, which enables the creation of a robotic system that automates the complete dismantling process for used electric car batteries, and Hyperflex, a mobile factory that facilitates and speeds up the assembly and installation of photovoltaic systems, directly on site.

"Comau shares with ADRA the commitment to create new development and innovation opportunities in the automation and robotics sector at European level, through digitalisation and new technologies: by joining this association, we aim to contribute significantly to achieving these important common goals," says Ennio Chiatante, Head of Institutional Relations at Comau. “By collaborating with ADRA, Comau will have an even more active role in the European discussion tables, which we believe are crucial to leading the future of the industrial system and the international market, bringing new ideas, advanced solutions and established expertise, built on more than 50 years of experience in multiple industrial sectors, both traditional and emerging."

"I am pleased to welcome Comau as a new member of our association. Their global leadership in industrial robotics, combined with our European network of excellence in artificial intelligence, data and robotics, will significantly enhance the ability to define the European strategy for innovation in these crucial areas," explains Emanuela Girardi, President of ADRA. “In particular, Comau’s contribution will be key to advancing the capabilities of generative artificial intelligence applied to the industrial robotics industry and to maintaining Europe’s leadership in this strategic field. Together, we will be able to strengthen European international competitiveness and develop cutting-edge technologies that fully reflect European values such as reliability, human focus and environmental and social sustainability.”
