The very compact LEDs, which come in packages commonly used for signal applications, have a typical light intensity of 250 to 300 mcd. They are therefore brighter and more efficient than the products currently available on the market. They feature a wide beam angle of 140° and emit no ultraviolet or infrared radiation. Possible applications include keyboard backlighting for cell phones and portable devices, indoor and outdoor information panels, LCD backlighting, industrial displays, or traffic control systems.
