Tablet holder enables shift to industrial conditions

To adapt commercial tablets to industrial conditions, IDEC has released the HT4P Safety Commander Industrial Tablet Holder.

It is available at distributor Switches Unlimited

With an ergonomic design that enables users to securely hold and protect a human-machine interface (HMI) tablet, it also provides power, networking, hardwired emergency stop (e-stop) and other operator interface devices.

The IDEC HTP4’s hand (or shoulder) strap, rugged construction with drop resistance of 1.2m, IP54 rated protection and a waterproof one-touch connector suits industrial environments.

As a single hand-held Safety Commander device can be safely carried and used in multiple locations on a production line, it could reduce the number of fixed control panels thus saving space and cost.

The tablet holder features wired LAN connection and mechanical switches.

OEMs and automation designers can now provide flexible and safety-rated operator interface options for equipment, robotics, collaborative robots, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and other manufacturing system applications, through Switches Unlimited.
