New MX2457 camera from XIMEA

The MX2457 camera from XIMEA is setting new standards in industrial imaging. A key highlight is the integration of Sony’s latest IMX811 medium format sensor with a 245.7 MP resolution.

This makes it well suited for tasks such as surface inspection, texture capture, and detailed 3D modelling. The camera’s PCIe interface facilitates high-bandwidth, real-time data transfer, for high frame rates and low latency.

Its detachable sensor head provides flexibility for tight spaces, reduces heat buildup, and improves image quality by minimising noise.

Belonging to XIMEA’s xiX-XL camera family, the MX2457 combines high resolution, flexibility, and robustness. One interesting use case is aerial mapping, capturing high-resolution images valuable for cartography, agriculture, and urban planning.

The advantages of aerial mapping with MX2457:

• Detailed maps: high resolution for precise models
• Accurate measurements: combines aerial images with GPS data
• Efficiency: quickly captures large areas

Other applications include machine vision, medical technology, scientific research, and security technology.
