Delivering up to 260W of power in a compact chassis-mount package, the PRP-260 Series of pure sine wave inverters has been announced by Schaefer. The PRP-260 Series has versions that comply with industrial (EN60950) or rail (EN50155) standards.

Providing a convenient drop-in replacement for competing solutions, the Milwaukee EDGU universal edgewound power resistor has been launched by Vishay Intertechnology. The universal-mounted EDGU combines a high-reliability design with continuous duty operation up to 85A and a short-time overload of 10x rated power for five seconds.

AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications, Texas Instruments has claimed that the UCC275xx-Q1 family of single- and dual-channel gate drivers features the industry’s fastest propagation delays of less than 15ns. The ultra-low propagation delays in the gate drivers help automotive systems efficiently switch power electronics at high frequencies to maintain a small footprint and reduce overall vehicle weight.

Designed to meet the extreme conditions of the world’s railways, the ACS-2563 is APLEX Technology's first railway BOX PC with EN50155 compliance. The ACS-2563 is equipped with M12 connectors, ensuring tight connections and safety.

Providing inductance values in the range of 0.47-22µH, Vishay has introduced the IHLP-2525CZ-8A low-profile, high-current inductor. The AEC-Q200 qualified device serves as a high-performing, space- and power-saving solution for voltage regulator modules (VRM) and DC/DC converters in high-temperature automotive applications.

Yamaichi Electronics has introduced the FPS009-2903-0, an SD card reader with features making it ideal for the automotive sector.  The FPS009-2903-0 is a top-mount version with a push/push mechanism. That means that the card is manually inserted, engages with a soft-lock mechanism, and is then be pressed again to eject it a predefined distance for convenient removal.

A Chrome DIN rail power supply series, from Delta Electronics, has been extended with the addition of a 30W product offering 24V output voltage. The Class II double isolation power supply is designed for use in compact cabinets.

Two medium power switch series, featuring either momentary or locking actuation configurations, has been added to C&K Component's PCB-mounted switch product line. The PVA Series short-stroke key switches are designed for through-hole PCB soldering, and are available in either DPST (double pole, single throw) or DPDT (double pole, double throw) configurations.

Suited for current detection in applications with increased power requirements, such as automotive systems and industrial equipment, ROHM has announced the development of high power ultra-low-ohmic shunt resistors. The PSR series includes the PSR400, which is rated at 4W, and the PSR500, which is rated up to 5W.

Performance results for KEMET's polymer tantalum capacitors have been released. The capacitors have been developed according to the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) Q200 Reliability Document, with the results announced at the 2014 CARTS International Conference in Santa Clara, CA.
