At B6.442 of electronica, KEMET will be both launching and showcasing capacitor families. The trade show takes place from 11th to 14th November 2014 in Munich.

Designed for automotive applications, the company’s AEC-Q200 compliant tantalum polymer capacitor family will be introduced at the event. To handle the demands placed on systems such as driver assistance, energy recovery and infotainment, the capacitors prioritise high quality, reliability and volumetric efficiency.

High-performance, ultra-stable ceramic capacitors, including devices that extend the company’s C0G portfolio, will be launched at electronica. Class I surface-mount families rated for operation up to 200V, including high-temperature extensions for applications requiring temperature capability as high as 200°C, will be introduced at KEMET’s booth.

The X8R and X8L axial ceramics, which are claimed to be the world’s first axial ceramics with a 150°C capability for automotive and industrial applications, will be also be launched at the event.

The F862 family of metallised polypropylene film capacitors will be on display at the company’s booth. Capable of withstanding harsh environments such as high humidity, the fully-approved RFI X2 capacitors are designed for noise filtering and peak-voltage protection when connected parallel to the mains, or in series as in a smart meter. To provide long-term high stability, the capacitors have been re-designed to resist traditional capacitance-loss mechanisms.

At the electronica, the company will also showcase a number of solutions developed with NEC TOKIN. Flex Suppressor sheets, which feature micro-magnetic foils for attenuating interference or improving signal transmission and reception, will be on display alongside supercapacitors, miniature signal relays, metal composite inductors, EMI cores and AC line filters.

“electronica only happens every two years, and the show provides a valuable opportunity for engineers to get together, hear the latest news and get the inside track on where the industry is heading. We will be launching two exciting tantalum and film families for automotive applications, and we look forward to showcasing our values of high quality and performance to a wider audience” said Johnny Boan, Vice President, Marketing, KEMET.
