Wacom Components has successfully created a highly enhanced surface capacitive touch component solution for mid to large size flat panel applications. The CapPlus range builds on Wacom’s market leading position in touch-pad products for the creative/professional community.
Using Reversing Ramped Field Capacitive (RRFC) technology, CapPLUS products overcome many of the traditional performance barriers associated with existing surface capacitive technology.

“By applying RRFC across the range, all products are able to combine the advantages of capacitive features such as light and accurate touch feel, robust glass substrates, and ease of sealing, but can also be used with thin gloves for hospital and patient monitoring applications”, commented Darren Chapman, Sales Manager at GPEG International Ltd.
‘’The additional immunity to liquids on the touch surface is a major feature of benefit to medical, industrial and outdoor kiosk manufacturers alike. Wacom have improved the surface scratch resistance of CapPlus by increasing the coating thickness to be up to 4 times greater than traditional capacitive touch panels’’.

‘’ The Touchscreen controller has many unique features, unlike similar products, it does not need to be sold as a matched pair with individual panels, it has superior sensitivity and linearity through enhanced digital processing and most importantly offers higher immunity to ground drift and nearby metals - traditionally the most undesirable feature of capacitive overlays. For the gaming and kiosk market this means that it is no longer necessary to re-calibrate the touch screen each time the product is powered down’’.

“The importance of standing by our products as we enter the market is the key to Wacom Components success” said Stephan Herron, Director of component sales for Wacom Components division “we believe our product and quality control regime is amongst the best in the world. The consequence of this is touch panels that are reliable and that customers can trust, from a brand that is a market leader in user interface technologies – backed up by an industry leading five-year warranty.”

“Finding the right partner to bring these innovative products quickly to market is very important for Wacom. We know that with GPEG’s novel approach not only to technical sales and marketing but also their in-house monitor integration business, is the ideal way to make that happen.”

Nick How, MD of GPEG International Ltd, the global niche provider of flat panel solutions added, “To further enhance GPEG’s success in the touch monitor market I am incredibly excited to be working with Stephan and Wacom’s Component Division. To provide our customers with the innovative ‘’CapPlus’’ technology reinforces our product strategy of having our own design and manufacturing facilities working alongside external technology provider to create the best solutions for all the markets that we serve’’.
