Connectors support Raspberry Pi B+ HAT spec

A range of Samtec surface mount connectors and through-board sockets that support the new HAT (Hardware Attached on Top) specification for Raspberry Pi B+ add-on boards has been added to the Toby Electronics portfolio. The parts give designers of HAT-compliant expansion boards the choice of either a flush, low profile solution, or longer pins that enable the addition of further boards or IDC cables, for example.

New waterproof M8 circular panel mount connector added to the Valcon family

Toby Electronics has added a waterproof (IP68) M8 circular panel mount connector to its Valcon range of electronic components. The new UT-SP209F1-3P is a moulded, all-plastic, threaded 3-pin plug with 50mm red, white and black 24 gauge wires attached. It mates with the new UT-P209F4-3P, a 3.5m cable assembly socket. The black cable features a PUR (polyurethane) jacket and all contacts are gold flash plated.

THTR DIN41612 connectors support one step solder process

ept has released details of a reflow-compatible range of through hole DIN41612 connectors. Available in the UK from franchised distributor Toby Electronics, the high temperature THTR (Through Hole Technology Reflow) series can be soldered using the same process as other surface mount components on the PCB, saving time and money without compromising standards of reliability.

Toby introduces innovative solution for HDMI cable termination

Specialist component distributor Toby Electronics has introduced an innovative new cable plug kit that supports IDC (insulation displacement connection) termination of 28 and 30AWG HDMI cables. Eliminating the need for difficult and time-consuming soldering of cables in the field, the new 51D series is compatible with all versions of the HDMI standard, including 1.4.
