ROHM has developed LED driver ICs - the BD94130xxx-M series (BD94130MUF-ME2, BD94130EFV-ME2) - for automotive LCD backlights.

ROHM has developed a 12W-rated metal plate shunt resistor (PSR350). It is optimised for high-power applications in the automotive and industrial equipment markets. ROHM will also expand the PSR line-up to include a 0.2mΩ (PSR100) model along with a 15W type (PSR330).

ROHM has established mass production technology for Short-Wavelength Infrared (SWIR) devices for portable/wearable/hearable devices requiring material detection.

ROHM developed the 4ch/6ch LED driver ICs, BD83A04EFV-M, BD83A14EFV-M, and BD82A26MUF-M designed for medium to large size automotive displays in car infotainment and instrument clusters.

At PCIM Europe, the trade fair for Power Electronics, Intelligent Motion and Energy Management in Nuremberg, Germany (9—11 May 2023), ROHM Semiconductor will showcase its new power semiconductors that advance sustainable technologies – including high-performance solutions for the e-mobility sector and beyond.

ROHM has announced that Murata Power Solutions is using its high-performance silicon carbide (SiC) Schottky Barrier Diodes (SBD) to increase performance and reduce the size of Power Supply Units (PSUs) for data centre applications.

ROHM developed primary LDO regulators: BD7xxL05G-C series (BD725L05G-C, BD730L05G-C, BD733L05G-C, and BD750L05G-C) featuring a rated input voltage of 45V and 50mA output current optimised for redundant power supplies that are increasingly being used in automotive applications to improve the reliability of vehicle power systems.

ROHM has released a new generation of 1-channel and 2-channel 40V smart low-side switches, the BV1LExxxEFJ-C and BM2LExxxFJ-C series. The two product families are ideally designed for automotive and industrial applications. They are AEC-Q100 qualified and are suitable for systems such as car body control, engine and transmission control units, LED lighting modules, or industrial PLC (programmable logic controllers).

ROHM has developed an isolated flyback DC/DC converter, BD7Fx05EFJ-C (BD7F105EFJ-C, BD7F205EFJ-C) optimised for gate driver power supplies in xEV applications such as electric compressors, and PTC heaters.

ROHM has recently developed wide terminal shunt resistors, LTR10L. They are optimised for a variety of applications in the automotive, industrial, and consumer sectors, while also strengthening the considerable lineup with two updated general-purpose MCR series shunt resistors (MCR10L and MCR18L).

Shenzhen BASiC Semiconductor and ROHM have entered into a strategic partnership agreement on SiC power devices for automotive applications.

ROHM has developed an on-device learning AI chip (SoC with on-device learning AI accelerator) for edge computer endpoints in the IoT field. It utilises artificial intelligence to predict failures (predictive failure detection) in electronic devices equipped with motors and sensors in real-time with ultra-low power consumption.

ROHM has signed a joint development agreement with Mazda Motor Corporation and Imasen Electric Industrial for inverters and SiC power modules to be used in the electric drive units of electric vehicles, including e-Axle.

During its presence at electronica 2022 in Munich, ROHM has honoured Future Electronics, a distributor of electronic and electro-mechanical components, with the Distributor of the Year award.
