Qualcomm extends cash tender offer for all shares of NXP

Qualcomm Incorporated has announced that Qualcomm River Holdings B.V., an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm, has extended the offering period of its previously announced cash tender offer to purchase all of the outstanding common shares of NXP Semiconductors N.V.. The tender offer is being made pursuant to the Purchase Agreement, dated as of October 27, 2016, by and between Qualcomm River Holdings B.V. and NXP.

Qualcomm Incorporated has announced that the European Commission and the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC) authorised the acquisition by Qualcomm River Holdings, of NXP Semiconductors. The acquisition has now received eight of the nine approvals around the world, with China remaining.

Qualcomm through its subsidiary, Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies, announced commercial sampling and conducted a live demonstration of the world’s first 10nm server processor. As the first in the Qualcomm Centriq product family, the Qualcomm Centriq 2400 series has up to 48-cores and is built on the most advanced 10nm FinFET process technology.

World's first MulteFire over-the-air connection

Qualcomm announced that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, has successfully made the world's first over-the-air connection via MulteFire using LBT. MulteFire is a next-gen mobile cellular technology based on LTE that operates solely in unlicensed spectrum. As part of the test, Qualcomm demonstrated that MulteFire, with full co-existence capability in operation at all times, can provide LTE-like performance while fairly co-existing with Wi-Fi on the same 5 GHz channel in unlicensed spectrum.

Qualcomm Incorporated has announced at COMPUTEX 2016 that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, is introducing the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 1100 processor for the fast growing targeted-purpose wearables segments such as connected kid and elderly watches, fitness trackers, smart headsets, and wearable accessories. The Snapdragon Wear 1100 processor complements the Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, which is designed for multi-purpose wearables, and joins the Snapdragon Wear product family.

Qualcomm delivers GigaDSL offerings to help broadband operators

Qualcomm Incorporated has announced at COMPUTEX 2016 that its subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, introduced end-to-end GigaDSL products that enable broadband operators to seamlessly transition deployments from VDSL to Gigabit access technologies.  Designed to meet the requirements for the migration for existing VDSL by operators, especially in Korea and Japan, the new QCO5700 for Multiple Dwelling Units (MDU) and the QCM5720 for Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) can provide up to 1Gbps broadband over existing telephone lines – while maintaining interoperability with carriers' existing modems and seamless coexistence with deployed infrastructure.
