Small rotary encoders feature DRIVE-CLiQ interface

The range of small, absolute rotary encoders of 35mm diameter in HEIDENHAIN's 1000 and 1100 series has been expanded to include new versions with DRIVE-CLiQ connectivity. Marketed alongside existing HEIDENHAIN encoders of similar size that use the EnDat bi-directional and SSI serial interfaces, the DRIVE-CLiQ models have the same, compact mounting dimensions and can be used at temperatures up to 95°C.

Modular angle encoder with circular scale variants

A new family of optical scanning angle encoders has been developed by HEIDENHAIN for demanding applications requiring constant speed control or high positional stability. The modular design of the ERP 1000 encoders includes numerous circular scale variants and HEIDENHAIN’s HSP 1.0 signal processing ASIC (application-specific integrated circuit), its first ever use in an angle rather than a linear encoder.

Compact linear encoder suitable for feedback applications

A new, miniature, exposed linear encoder system has been introduced by HEIDENHAIN with the capability of resolving to 2nm. This performance is maintained at high traverse speeds up to 240m/min over long scale lengths to a maximum of 3,040mm. Machine builders in the semiconductor manufacturing, metrology and micromachining sectors are prospective users.

Touchscreen technology grows for controls manufacturer

The user interface of the smartphone and tablet has been incorporated into the next-gen, mid-range CNC system from HEIDENHAIN. The TNC 620 no longer has soft keys at the side of the screen or function keys and a numeric keypad below. Operation is now via graphics on a large touchscreen, as will be demonstrated on the manufacturer’s stand at EMO 2017.

Touch probe provides universal replacement

Just one wrong swivel and it's done: the touch probe collides badly with the workpiece or the chuck. To ensure that such a collision no longer leads to a prolonged machine standstill, HEIDENHAIN now offers a universal replacement for the touch probes of the TS 6xx series. If the collision happens with one of the known touch probes TS 640, TS 641, TS 649 or TS 632, the TS 642 is available as a universal replacement.
