Hammond Manufacturing has been operating for close to one-hundred years, with deep historical roots. The business started in a backyard workshop in 1916 located in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. In the early years, the Company manufactured radios, power amplifiers and battery eliminators.

Hammond Electronics’ 1590 STOMP die-cast aluminium enclosures are the housings of choice for leading stomp box manufacturers. Stomp boxes, also known as guitar effect pedals, are, as the name suggests, foot-operated equipment used by electric guitarists to produce preset effects such as distortion, wah-wah, delay, chorus and phaser. RFI capability added to heavy duty watertight enclosures

Hammond Electronics has extended the capabilities of the 1457 extruded aluminium family of small enclosures with the introduction of RFI screened IP54 environmentally sealed versions. The 1457 E Series is designed to house PCBs, directly mounted horizontally into internal slots extruded in the case body; the units can also be used to house any small electronic, electrical or pneumatic components.

Translucent ice-blue 1591XX ABS small enclosures

Extruded aluminium enclosures

Extruded aluminium enclosures with integral heat sink

Following the acquisition of the West Hyde small enclosures business when it ceased trading, Hammond Electronics has re-introduced the seven-strong Sink Box range of extruded aluminium cases, designed for the horizontal mounting of PCBs or chassis. The four larger sizes are designed for the direct horizontal housing of 3U Eurocards, either 160, 220 or 280mm deep.

Hammond buys Small Enclosure Business from West Hyde and Re-Launches Clipper Product Range

Hammond Electronics has acquired the small enclosures business of West Hyde Enclosures which has ceased trading. Manufacture has now resumed in the UK from the original West Hyde tooling, giving continuity of supply for customers who had previously specified the enclosures.

Die-Cast Enclosure Family Extended

Hammond Electronics' Eddystone thin wall range of die-cast aluminium enclosures has been extended with the addition of three sizes and a further two reduced height variants of existing plan sizes. The Eddystone range, which is said to provide excellent EMC performance and good mechanical protection for the housed components, now extends to 24 different models ranging in size from 50 x 50 x 25mm to 188 x120 x 82mm.
