FDM Group has achieved a gender pay gap of -1.7%, following the success of gender equality initiatives including its Returners Programme. Last year, GOV.UK reported a median gender pay gap of 8.7% across the UK.
Thirty-six percent of FDM Group’s global workforce is now female, up from 33% in 2024 and 31% in 2023, highlighting a consistent year-on-year increase in female representation. Its Returners Programme and key initiatives like ‘She Lives Tech’ and ‘Girls Into Tech’ are making progress in promoting gender diversity in the tech industry.
FDM Group is focused on launching new careers, advancing career progression opportunities, and promoting gender diversity though advocacy at government-level and within industry.
The FDM Returners Programme has been instrumental in helping close the gender pay gap by hiring more women into senior roles. The programme has helped over 550 people return to work since its inception in 2015.
Sheila Flavell CBE, COO of FDM Group, commented: “FDM was among the first UK organisations to publish a gender pay gap report when mandatory reporting began in 2017. We recognise the tech industry’s potential as a rewarding and future-shaping career path, particularly as fields like AI continue to evolve. Our goal is to help close the gender pay gap and create opportunities that empower more women to build successful careers in technology.”
“FDM also runs regular female-only bootcamps for students exploring careers in tech. These interactive sessions – from hackathons to coding workshops, offer hands-on experience in team-based projects, networking opportunities, and the chance to present to senior industry leaders.”
