Robust, miniaturised cameras land on comet’s surface

Conceived to function under extreme conditions, the Rosetta spacecraft's Philae lander features seven cameras, planned to give a 360° panoramic view of the comet’s surface. The high-definition cameras are not only miniature, but also robust enough to resist the violent vibrations of take-off and the extremely low temperatures encountered pursuing and landing on a comet hurtling through space towards the Sun.

IcyTRX, ultra-low power 2.4GHz transceiver platform from CSEM

CSEM have today announced the release of a new transceiver platform: IcyTRX, to meet the growing demand for extended battery life and miniaturisation. The IcyTRX platform consumes less than 10mW and is therefore perfectly suited to ultra-low power RF applications such as WirelessHART, IEEE 802.15.4 and Bluetooth low energy.

WiserBAN - Ultra-miniature smart wireless microsystems hold key for wearable and implanted body area networks

A European consortium lead by CSEM successfully launched the EC-funded WiserBAN project, with the objective of developing innovative ultra-miniature RF microsystems for wireless Body Area Networks (BAN) targeting primarily wearable and implanted devices for healthcare, biomedical, wellness and lifestyle applications.
