Avnet Integrated is inviting customers to an innovation journey at embedded world 2019 in Nuremberg (February 26-28). It will show its complete portfolio of solutions, encompassing embedded boards, embedded systems, displays, data centre solutions and software with hands-on demonstrations.

SimplePlus a platform that simplifies the process of customising LCD touch display solutions has been released globally by Avnet. It covers applications spanning markets which include industrial automation, medical and transportation. The platform can shorten product development cycles by delivering customers their first working unit within 48 hours, instead of the typical weeks or months for traditional samples.  

Avnet is buying Softweb Solutions, a privately held software and Artificial Intelligence (AI) company that delivers software solutions for Internet of Things (IoT) applications and systems. Avnet says the deal formalises a game-changing element of its overall solutions strategy.

For the first time at electronica, Avnet EMEA will present its European business units at one consolidated exhibition space. In addition to the expertise of its individual business units, Avnet will also demonstrate the capabilities of its ecosystem. Avnet EMEA, its business units Avnet Silica, EBV Elektronik and Avnet Abacus; and Farnell element14, the European business of Premier Farnell, are located in Hall C5, Stand 101.

Avnet has established a strategic alliance with relayr to accelerate the development and delivery of complete end-to-end IIoT solutions to customers throughout the Americas and Europe. The deal combines Avnet’s expertise in the design and development of custom IoT hardware with relayr’s IIoT capabilities.

The Ultra96 development board from Avnet adds a wide range of potential peripherals and programmable logic acceleration engines not previously available on the 96Boards platform. Avnet will be previewing and accepting pre-orders for the new board at the Linaro Connect Conference, in Hong Kong (March 19-23).

Video presentations of the four-part MiniZed SpeedWay Design Workshop interactive series organised by Avnet, are now available online. The MiniZed SpeedWay Design Workshops are designed to help engineers jump start the development of single-core Xilinx Zynq-7000 All Programmable SoC devices using the Avnet MiniZed Zynq SoC development kit, a cost-optimised prototyping platform for embedded vision and Industrial IoT systems.  

The IoTConnectcloud-based software platform and a portfolio of smart, market-ready connectivity solutions built around the platform will be unveiled by Avnet at CES 2018 (January 9-12) in Las Vegas. It has been developed to help organisations jump-start development of IoT-enabled systems and services.

Anticipating the global environment of electronics design, Avnet opened its first Design Center of Excellence in the Americas last month. The San Jose-based facility is 8,200 square feet that offers access to the technology and resources of California's Silicon Valley, but with a view to helping designers move production to other areas.

Avnet has acquired Dragon Innovation as it seeks to expand its portfolio of offerings for customers as they move from design to prototype to volume production. Dragon Innovation’s process and deep hardware experience help customers understand manufacturing costs and schedules, find factories and manage production as they scale their businesses.
