Rack and panel connectors create gas-tight connection

EDAC’s rack and panel connectors are industry-standard connectors with highly dependable contacts using the EDACON hermaphroditic contact design.

They are in stock at distributor DigiKey.

EDAC’s modular backplane rack and panel connectors are highly reliable, offering high continuity and shock and vibration connections. The hermaphroditic contact design mates at 90 degrees and provides four points of contact to create a gas-tight connection.

Actuating screws or locknut, polarising hardware, and plastic and metal covers/hoods are available to further support the connection by reducing exposure to contaminants and mechanical protection.

In the event EDAC’s standard rack and panel connectors do not meet the existing application requirements, EDAC can modify the standard versions to meet the application with little to no additional cost.

This capability opens many more options with EDAC’s connectors. If a full custom rack and panel connector is needed for the application or the use of the EDACON hermaphroditic contact in the connector, EDAC’s highly experienced engineering and manufacturing departments are available.

Features include gold over nickel plating for wire-hole, taper, PCB solder, wire-wrap, and crimp termination options available.

Crimp contacts are available pre-installed, separately in bulk, or on a reel for automated process.

The connectoirs are available in sizes of 14 to 120 contact positions with actuating screw or locknut, or both with polarizing hardware

Applications cover audio/video patch bays, automotive test panels, oil and gas refinery systems, energy control panels, industrial automation panels and test and measurement equipment.
