RS Components is stocking the EXD beacon range of explosion proof beacons from Moflash Signalling, a major UK-based manufacturer of signalling devices.  The BC125 stainless steel beacon series and the BC150 glass reinforced plastic (GRP) beacon series are designed to provide clear visual warning signals in potentially explosive or harsh environmental conditions such as those found in the oil and gas (on-shore and off-shore), chemical, petrochemical and marine industries.

Both beacons offer a choice of two types of light source: a Xenon (strobe) with multiple flash rate and power ratings (10W, 15W, 20W, 25W); and an LED array with three status type indication options (flashing, rotating, static) and two power ratings (5W, 10W). They are supplied as standard in a choice of lens colours: yellow (amber), red, blue, green, clear, or alternative colours can be specified on request.

The units also have the ability to be fitted with a telephone initiation function and can be used as the second ring output indicator for telephones when installed in very noisy environments.

Weighing just 3.8kg, the GRP construction of the BC150 beacon eases installation and offers a low-cost option for signalling requirements. The more robust (5.4 kg) stainless steel BC125 is ideal for off-shore applications where environmental conditions are particularly harsh.

Both devices are certified to ATEX and CQST standards in line with European safety regulations, and guarantee protection for workers in hazardous zones.
