In partnership with Aston Business School’s Centre for Executive Development, ECSN launched a Certificate in Management program for its executive membership.
The key objectives of the new Certificate in Management program is to develop the fundamental building blocks of management competence and knowledge that will enable participants to operate successfully in the electronic components supply business and in the process, introduce them to new and proven business thinking, tools and techniques, frameworks and models that allows them to explore different management approaches in their individual environments. ECSN has identified Aston Business School’s Centre for Executive Development as having the experience and expertise necessary to support the development of the key management skills that will blend with scientific skills to develop competent and confident electronics business professionals.

According to ECSN chairman Adam Fletcher, the electronic components industry is a highly technical environment requiring clearly developed skills and expertise in the technical disciplines but success is not wholly achieved through technical excellence: “An organisation’s success also relies on the management expertise to bring a product to market and lead a commercially successful business, which involves proficiency in the key management disciplines,” Fletcher said. “Accordingly we saw the need for a comprehensive program for members: to create, develop and promote the executive management skills necessary to develop the successful industry leaders of the future”.

Five Key Modules
The course comprises five modules; Strategic Management, Marketing Management, People Management, Operations Management and Financial Management, each of two day duration. Participants who complete the certificate program, and go on to successfully submit a work based project of 5,000 - 8,000 words will be eligible for the award of a Certificate in Management from Aston University.

Webinar; Thursday 12th July
ECSN has arranged for an Aston Business School panel to present a Webinar to outline the Certificate in Management programme and answer any questions from interested parties on Thursday 12th July at 10:00.
