ECSN April figures show continuing steady growth

Consolidated April performances figures released by the AFDEC Group within the ECSN showed that total monthly billings were 2% than they were in April 2014. The figures also showed an increase in the book-to-bill ratio, led by the semiconductor and electro-mechanical market sectors. However, compared to the previous month, the industry experienced a 14% decline.

According to ECSN Chairman Adam Fletcher, the 2% growth figure is in line with the organisations aim to improve low single digit growth over the next three quarters. However, the month-on-month decline shows how UK electronic components markets are being affected by the decline in economic growth across the EU and a continued downturn in manufacturing output in China.
