Cadence and MIET Celebrate 10 Years of a Successful Master’s Degree Program

MIET has many years of experience developing educational and research programs in design and the development of IC components as well as in training highly-qualified specialists. To support the master’s program, MIET founded the Device and System Design Institute, which is comprised of 24 specialized courses and labs. A fully-licensed Cadence software package was installed for end-to-end design of VLSI devices. Students are taught by MIET lecturers as well as by industry specialists from leading companies involved in integrated microelectronic circuit design.

Cadence also supports the Institute by providing professors ongoing curriculum development, technology and methodology training. Since the program began, 230 graduates have obtained their master’s diploma and Cadence certificates. The number of students attending the program continues to grow.

DSD Institute Director, Professor M.G. Putrya, Doctor of Technical Sciences, goes on to add, “Together with Cadence, we created an ideal program for Russian engineers to obtain a master’s degree. Working closely with the IC industry to understand their specific demands, allows us to educate the students so effectively that they can start working for companies immediately without needing additional training. The percentage of graduates that move into employment after their studies is nearly 100 percent making this one of the most successful programs at our institute.”
