Smart charger for NiMH/NiCD batteries

Powersolve just announced a smart charger for NiMH and NiCD batteries. The PSCH30 will auto detect and charge 8 to 15 NiMH or NiCD cells in series and charge them at the correct voltage between 9.6V and 18VDC. A switch allows users to select the charge current between 0.9A to 1.8A while charging status is indicated by LED.

The PSCH30 universal charger operates from a universal 90 to 264VAC and incorporates several safety features including automatic cut-off when the cells are fully charged and battery over-temperature protection using a thermal sensor. Over voltage and short circuit protection are also standard.

Housed in a compact, desk-top plastic enclosure (120 x 60 x 38mm), the Powersolve PSCH30 is supplied as standard with an IEC320 C14 3 pin AC input connector while the output lead is 1.2m, terminated in a 4 pin Toby KPPX-4P connector. Powersolve also offers a variety of optional output connectors on request.

The CE marked PSCH30 meets all relevant safety and EMC standards including UL1310, CISPR22 ‘B’, FCC Part 15 ‘B’ and EN55022 ‘B’.
