This application note describes the co-simulation of an electrically small ISM band antenna with the matching network built from surface mounted devices. Nl AWR Design Environment software, inclusive of Microwave Office, AXIEM and Analyst’M modules, was used to design the ISM band antenna and to simulate the effect of finite PCB size and possible PCB cutouts.
