Ultra-HDp60 SoC ICs decode Ultra-HD HEVC at 60fps

The STiH314/318 and STiH414/418 Ultra-HDp60 quad-core SoC ICs have been released by STMicroelectronics, expanding the company’s Cannes/ Monaco family. The SoCs can be used to decode Ultra-HD HEVC at 60fps with 10-bit colour depth streams, and display this on the latest gen HDMi2.0 at 6Gb/s. 

Users can also employ the SoCs to implement Ultra-HD p60 RDK, optimising distribution of high-quality 4K video throughout the whole home via pre-integration of up to 4×4 802.11ac WiFi. The SoCs deliver the latest Android L version, which benefits from ST’s ARM-based CPU/GPU’s and supports all the features provided by Google TV.

Via numerous third-party middleware, the SoCs support live feeds alongside user-friendly features such as fast channel change and transcoding. Building on advanced conditional access and digital rights management support, the SoCs can also be used for forensic watermarking, which raises the bar in high value Ultra-HD content protection and complies with MovieLabs latest requirements.

Enabling users to transition between Full HD and Ultra-HD installations, the STiH314/318 and STiH414/418 SoCs are software and pin compatible with the other members of the Cannes and Monaco families.
