Electronic Specifier, in conjunction with Messe München, will host a dedicated Cyber Security Forum at electronica 2026, bringing together industry experts to help engineers prepare for the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) as its compliance deadline draws closer.
The Forum takes place on Tuesday 10th November, in two sessions beginning at 09:30am and 11:30am, on the Future Tech Stage in Hall C6, hosted by Mick Elliott, Editor at Electronic Specifier.
By the close of this year’s electronica, the CRA deadline will sit just over 12 months away. On paper, that may look like a comfortable runway. In practice, the complexity of the Act’s obligations means engineering teams across the electronics sector are facing a demanding and unfamiliar compliance landscape – one that touches product design, component selection, software development, and supply chain management alike.
The Cyber Security Forum has been created to help. Rather than treating the CRA as an abstract regulatory exercise, the sessions are designed to give design engineers and technical decision-makers a clear, practical understanding of what the Act means for their day-to-day work – and, crucially, what solutions already exist to help them get there.
A line-up of industry experts will address some of the most pressing questions facing engineering teams today, across four key sessions:
- CRA: the new rules of engineering connected products – examining how the Act reshapes the fundamentals of designing and building connected devices
- Cybersecurity, AI, and regulation: are engineering teams ready for the CRA era? – assessing the readiness of today’s engineering organisations for a new regulatory reality
- From CRA requirements to action: how AI can help companies comply with CRA – exploring how artificial intelligence tools can ease the compliance burden
- How the Cyber Resilience Act influences MCU/SoC/FPGA selection – looking at the practical implications for component choice at the heart of connected product design
Together, the sessions offer a rounded view of the CRA’s impact – from high-level engineering strategy through to the granular decisions made at the component level – giving attendees both the regulatory context and the actionable insight to move forward with confidence.
With connectivity continuing to expand across embedded systems, IoT, and industrial environments, the attack surface facing engineers has never been larger – and neither has the regulatory scrutiny that comes with it. The Cyber Security Forum gives attendees the opportunity to hear directly from those shaping the response, ahead of a deadline that will affect virtually every connected product reaching the European market.
