Japanese semiconductor manufacturer ROHM has appointed Dr Christian Felgemacher as its new Director of Application Engineering for Europe, expanding his remit to include both the operational coordination of customer support and the strategic direction of the company’s application engineering efforts across the region.

Felgemacher, who joined ROHM in 2017, previously served as Senior Department Manager of Application Engineering, where he led the company’s Technical Consulting and Customer Support divisions. During his tenure, he helped establish ROHM’s Application and Technical Solution Centre (ATSC), oversaw the creation of its Power Lab, and supported the development of customer-focused power solutions.

His work has been central to ROHM’s expansion in the automotive, industrial, and energy markets, particularly through the advancement of silicon carbide (SiC) technologies and inverter systems.

“Dr Felgemacher has distinguished himself through outstanding performance and leadership qualities during his many years at ROHM,” said Wolfram Harnack, President of ROHM Europe. “He is the perfect person for the position of Director of Application Engineering.”

Commenting on his appointment, Felgemacher said he looked forward to further strengthening ROHM’s technical capabilities in Europe. “With our team of experts, I aim to advance strategic customer projects and actively shape ROHM’s growth trajectory in Europe,” he said.
