In an era of expanding wireless connectivity and real-time data exchange, accurate signal analysis is critical for ensuring performance, compliance, and innovation.
To address these needs, Siglent introduces the SHA860A Series, a next-generation handheld signal analyser that combines spectrum analysis, real-time monitoring, vector network analysis (VNA), and 5G NR/LTE signal decoding in a single portable platform.
Comprehensive field-ready solution
The SHA860A is designed to support base station deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting directly on site. Covering 9kHz to 7.5GHz (soon up to 26.5GHz), it offers up to 110MHz real-time analysis bandwidth and integrates advanced capabilities such as 5G NR/LTE OTA testing, pulse analysis, IQ data acquisition, GPS-synchronised mapping, and cable/antenna testing. This multifunctional design reduces equipment overhead while accelerating workflows for operators and field engineers.
5G NR & LTE OTA testing
Accurate validation of network quality is vital during deployment. The SHA860A’s 5G NR OTA mode demodulates signals to extract key parameters including PCI, SSB index, frequency error, and EVM, visualised through constellation diagrams. This ensures smooth NSA operation between LTE and 5G.
The LTE OTA mode delivers comprehensive demodulation results, including PCI, sector ID, frequency error, synchronisation, and power levels (PSS/SSS/CRS/PBCH), along with EVM and constellation views. These insights allow technicians to identify interference, improve channel performance, and enhance user experience.
Real-time spectrum analysis
With 110MHz real-time bandwidth and 300,000 FFT/s processing speed, the SHA860A captures transient signals as short as 3.51µs at 100% POI. Tools such as frequency mask triggering, density, 3D, spectrogram, and power-versus-time views provide multidimensional insight, supporting interference hunting and spectrum monitoring in complex 5G environments.
Cable and antenna testing
Base station reliability depends on component integrity. The SHA860A simplifies verification with fast single-port tests for cable loss, return loss, VSWR, and distance-to-fault. With an optional 1-Path 2-Port VNA upgrade, engineers gain S11/S21 measurements, Smith chart visualisation, and a 114dB dynamic range for detailed amplitude/phase analysis.
Pulse analysis
RF pulse signals are critical in radar and communications. The SHA860A includes a pulse measurement function with 10,001 points, supporting positive/negative peak, sample, average, and conventional modes. This ensures comprehensive validation of pulse power, transitions, and overall performance in real-world conditions.
Indoor/outdoor mapping
Reliable network coverage requires detailed mapping. With GPS-assisted indoor and outdoor mapping, users can identify base station locations, antenna orientations, and weak or high-interference areas. Data logging and playback with ±0.01 ppm accuracy post-GPS lock streamline coverage optimisation and troubleshooting.
IQ data acquisition
For advanced analysis, the SHA860A provides IQ data capture with 1GB RAM, 300MHz sample rate, and 110MHz bandwidth. Data can be saved and transferred via USB or LAN for offline evaluation, enabling accurate signal reproduction and spectrum visualisation.
Enabling next-generation networks
By consolidating critical measurement functions, the SHA860A empowers field technicians to validate beam performance, detect interference, and optimise networks efficiently. Its real-time bandwidth, OTA capabilities, GPS mapping, and compact form factor make it a powerful companion for modern 5G/LTE deployments.
