Intelliconnect (Europe) has been awarded AS9100 certification, which recognises that the company’s quality management system meets the AS9100 standard, a specialised set of requirements for the aerospace, defence, and aviation industries.
AS9100 is based on the general quality standard ISO 9001, with additional aerospace-specific requirements covering such areas as safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. AS9100 covers the total supply chain and applies to manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers in aerospace of any size.
Compliance to the standard demonstrates that a company has proven it follows a globally recognised aerospace-specific quality system, can deliver products that meet customer and regulatory requirements and has processes to prevent defects and manage risks.
To become certified, a company undergoes an in-depth audit by an accredited third-party registrar, and it must be re-audited regularly (often annually) to maintain certification.
The award was presented to Intelliconnect at their Witham, Essex, facility by Michael Venner of Auva Certification.
