The availability of both a top and bottom port microphone provides customers maximum flexibility in mechanical and acoustical design. Low power consumption enables long battery life for portable applications. The ICS-40161 has a linear response up to 131dB SPL with a common sensitivity specification of -38dBV.
The ICS-40161 consists of a MEMS microphone element, an impedance converter and an output amplifier and is an excellent choice for both near field and far field applications.
Contextual awareness is driving the need for low-power ‘AlwaysOn’ sensors. The ICS-40161 microphone meets this challenge with its ‘AlwaysOn’ mode, while offering 65dB SNR, high Acoustic Overload Point and excellent matching in high performance mode.
Ali Foughi, Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, InvenSense, commented: “InvenSense has achieved another industry first, delivering a top port microphone matching the performance of its bottom port counterpart. InvenSense continues to lead the industry in bringing innovative human-like interface, including both motion and audio, to consumer electronics.”
The ICS-40161 is available in a small 3.75×2.65×1.02mm top-port surface-mount package.
