The Infinity® 96M1574 system provides a total of 14 slots for eight long and six short plug-in cards. This means, in addition to the Slot CPU, depending on the associated backplane, optionally up to 12 PCI slots or a maximum of eight ISA slots are accessible. Furthermore, the 19-inch IPC provides four 5.25-inch drive bays and one 3.5-inch bay. As an option, a RAID SATA removable frame, for example, for three drives, can be integrated. The drive cage is protected against vibration.
The highlight of the modular 19-inch computer is DSM Computer’s new Slot CPU 96M9296o that conforms to the proven but still very popular PICMG 1.0 Standard. The module is DSM’s currently highest-performance mobile platform in this form factor. The compact CPU card is equipped with an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo (Penryn) processor with 667/800/1066 MHz front side bus or an Intel® Celeron™ processor. The Slot CPU integrates as chipset the Intel® GM45/ICH9M with Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. The main memory can be expanded with two DDR3 SO-DIMM memory modules to provide a maximum capacity of 8 GB.
A Mini PCI Express™ card and the internal Compact Flash socket allow the module to be expanded, also independent of the backplane. On request, two Mini PCI Express™ cards can also be integrated.
The available interfaces include not only two 2 x GigaBit LAN outputs, but also eight USB 2.0 ports (each of which has a port on the front side and on the rear side of the 19-inch system), GPIO, serial and parallel interfaces, HD Audio and IDE. VGA is provided as graphic interface with DVI available as option.
A 12-cm fan located behind a replaceable dust filter is provided to cool the computer system. The low power consumption of the Mobile platform based on the Slot CPU means the Infinity® 96M1574 is specified for a maximum ambient temperature of 45° C and, on request, depending on the configuration, even as high as 50° C.
