RS is converging its maintenance offering across Europe as part of its overall strategy to better serve customer needs by providing a consistent, comprehensive product range in each region worldwide. When completed, a total of 70,000 products will have been converged across Europe, equating to 380,000 individual product introductions across 16 countries. Half of these are in the automation and control range, the company’s primary technology focus in the maintenance sector because of its high sales growth and potential for future revenue growth.
The product convergence programme was initiated in 2010 following the success achieved when new products were launched in all markets. This highlighted the significant business potential of making all products in the maintenance portfolio available across all of Europe.
Kevin Thompson, General Manager Maintenance at Electrocomponents, commented: “Our business is driven by our customers’ needs, and this initiative will save them time and money by giving them local access to our entire product portfolio. We have the widest range of brands in stock and the latest product technology and full supplier ranges available online, and our suppliers are enthusiastic about this programme and see the value in it. This initiative, together with our eCommerce offering, gives us a key advantage in the automation and control sector, and is another example of how we are investing in our business across the region to further accelerate growth.”
