Compugraphics International scoops top electronics industry award

Leading photomask supplier Compugraphics was voted Supplier of the Year 2010 at the recent National Microelectronics Institute (NMI) awards ceremony held in London.

The accolade was made by representatives from manufacturing sites on the following categories: flexibility and responsiveness to customer requests; quality of product; business impact of product and continuous improvement practices.

Brian Young, general manager of Compugraphics International (Glenrothes) said “Compugraphics has a 40+ year history and has grown to become a globally recognised player in the sector. From Scotland our products are now exported all over Europe and the world. This award from our UK and Ireland customers is fantastic motivation for us and reassurance that even long standing customers are benefiting from our efforts to continually improve the customer experience.”

Derek Boyd, CEO, NMI, commented The UK and Irish semiconductor manufacturing operations provide a valuable contribution to our economies. This sector has remained strong, resilient to global trends of off-shoring by excelling at manufacturing excellence, innovation, delivery and cost. In turn the local supplier base is of crucial importance to maintain such a world-class performance. It is for this reason that NMI has introduced an award to promote supplier excellence in supporting the manufacturing base and we are delighted to announce that Compugraphics International is the first recipient – congratulations to all the staff.
