Nike even introduced an pair of shoes in celebration of the day.
With the help of Michael J. Fox, Marty McFly (the main character) in the film, Nike introduced the first pair of self tying shoes. The shoes combined archetype invention with digital technology, giving a result of an individually responsive system that senses a wearer’s motion to provide adaptive on-demand comfort and support.
“We started creating something for fiction and we turned it into fact, inventing a new technology that will benefit all athletes,” said Mark Parker, President and Chief Executive Officer, Nike.
