The Mission also comes with a customised suite of apps from Nixon. The aptly-named Mission app, powered by Surfline and Snocountry, lets users check live surf and powder conditions all over the world with just a glance at the wrist. Another is customisable Shred Alerts, which notify users of their personalised perfect conditions at chosen locations.
The Mission also includes an activity-tracking app developed with Trace, an industry leader in action-sports activity tracking. The Mission uses a range of sensors, including a thermometer, an altimeter, and a barometer, so users can access live, comprehensive data about their sessions.
To optimise all that data the Snapdragon Wear 2100 features an integrated, ultra-low-power sensor hub that uses rich algorithms to support top-notch accuracy.
Snapdragon 2100 is 30% smaller than the Snapdragon 400, supporting powerful processing without sacrificing design.
The Mission features an elegant Corning Gorilla Glass screen, a shock-resistant Poron XRD chassis, and patent-pending MicLock technology. The watch is also the first to feature a 10-ATM water-resistance rating, the highest of any on the market, and can withstand up to 330 feet of water.
The 1.39-inch AMOLED display comes complete with multi-touch capabilities and an ambient light sensor, and even works with wet fingers.
Nixon’s The Mission smartwatch is expected to be available in fall of 2016 at Nixon stores.
