Saelig Announce 6GHz Counter-Timer With Low Cost And High Resolution

Saelig unveil an economical 6GHz bench/portable frequency counter, the TF960. It features a high quality temperature compensated internal frequency reference which has a low ageing rate and is stable to within ±1ppm over the full temperature range. Its short warm-up time allows accurate measurements to be made even under portable battery powered conditions.

An External Reference input is provided and changeover from the internal time-base is automatic when an external reference standard is connected. The TF960 Counter-Timer can measure and count with high sensitivity between 0.001Hz and 6000MHz, and incorporates a USB control interface, which facilitates control and data transfer.

The TF960 Counter-Timer can measure frequency, period, pulse width, duty cycle and frequency ratio, as well as event counting/totalizing. For frequency, period and ratio functions, the TF960 uses a reciprocal counting technique to provide high resolution at all frequencies with up to 10-digit accuracy.

For frequencies up to 125MHz, the TF960 Counter-Timer’s input is configurable as 1M Ohm or 50 Ohm impedance, AC or DC coupling, and 1:1 or 5:1 attenuation. The threshold is fully variable, and the active edge can be a positive or negative transition. Two high frequency inputs cover a range of 80MHz to >3GHz and 2GHz to >6GHz, the latter input being via an N connector.

The TF960 operates from internal rechargeable NiMH batteries which give typically 24 hours operating life. The universal AC charger supplied recharges the batteries in less than 4 hours and can also provide continuous AC operation. The instrument can also be powered from a standard USB port.

The TF960 measures 10.3 x 3.5 x 9.3mm and weighs less than 2 lbs. The high contrast display has ten 0.5 high digits, along with a comprehensive set of annunciators.

The TF960 Counter-Timer is available now from Saelig.
